Simply put, The Law of Attraction is a new age ideology that says that 'like attracts like', and that positive thinking will bring about positive results and negative thinking will result in negative results.

That seems to be a little bit too simplistic. If all I had to do was think positively about having a new BMW, then it should be parked in my driveway instantly. It really isn't quite that easy.

My understanding of the 'like attracts like' concept is that if you have negative thoughts, then those feelings attract negative people and circumstances, making everything and everyone unhappy and - well, 'negative'. On the other hand, when you are happy and cheerful, in a positive frame of mind, you start attracting more and more positive and constructive circumstances.

Bob Proctor, in his book Born Rich uses an acorn for his example of how the Law of Attraction works. He asks us to envision this acorn and notice that it, like everything else in this material world, is really a collection of energy moving at a very high speed of vibration. Inside the acorn is the patterned plan or nucleus which determines the vibratory rate and also governs what it will grow into.

As soon as the acorn or seed is planted, through the Law Of Attraction, the nucleus, according to the plan, begins to attract everything that is vibrating in harmony with it. It attracts everything it needs from the ground and they join up and grow. As they expand, shoots grow out of the bottom and form roots. As the shoots grow upward they break through the earth and start growing up as a stem, attracting what they need as they go. They continue to grow until at last one day they'll become a tree.

Unlike humans, the acorn can't change its programming so it can only grow into what it's programming dictates - namely, a tree. But we humans have the ability to change our vibration and therefore choose our own programming. Because of the Law Of Attraction, the goal programming that we plant into the mind is the nucleus which determines what we will grow into. It also determines what we will attract and what we will repel.

This is a very orderly universe and nothing happens by accident. The pictures which we plant in our awesome minds are what set up an attraction that results in the life we live. It's up to us to make the decision about what we want to attract into our lives.

It seems very clear that we'll never be able to attract positive things into our lives if we continue to think negative thoughts and have expectations of lack. Since we're always attracting something, we'd be smart to learn how to attract what we really want instead of attracting more of the same. As Proctor says, "Understand, you have ordered it, and it's being delivered to you, right on schedule."

 

So program your mind with fantastic goals. Nurture them and tend those seeds and because of the Law Of Attraction, you'll see them thrive and become a FABULOUS LIFE.
